Native Star Knowledge

Every culture throughout the history of the world has their own stories about the stars. These stories were usually used to teach their children their traditions and way of life. Come learn about the star knowledge related to the cultures native to Minnesota, the Ojibwe and D(L)akota Native Americans. The word, “Minnesota” is a Dakota word that can be translated to mean, “the land of water that reflects the stars.” Come see how the philosophy of “As it is Above, it is Below” shapes our understanding of the universe around us.
