Interested in learning the art of sign language? Join our Fundamentals of Sign Language Club where students will have the opportunity to learn and use sign language. We will use the ASL free online program from Bill Vicars. ASL is a visual gestural language which means it is a language that is expressed through the hands and face and is perceived through the eyes. This is a great way for all students to connect with each other and learn a new life long skill. There is much more to learning American Sign Language than just memorizing signs. ASL has its own grammar, culture, history, terminology and other unique characteristics. It takes time and effort to become a "skilled signer." But you have to start somewhere if you are going to get anywhere--so dive in and enjoy!
