We are always in need of chaperones. If you are interested in being a new or returning chaperone, please register yourself below in the course section labeled "5600.VOLUNTEERS". You will be prompted to complete a background check if you are a new volunteer.

About Ski Club

Every year, almost 400 students from Rochester and the surrounding area travel to Welch Village Ski & Snowboard Area as part of Rochester Community Education Ski Club. Students who register for Ski Club receive coach bus transportation to and from Welch Village. Many students tell us that Ski Club is one of their favorite parts of the school year and that they love the freedom to explore Welch Village with their friends.

Ski Club does not include formal lessons. Students are expected to choose runs that are appropriate for their experience level.

Prior to the start of Ski Club, your school's Ski Club Advisor will reach out with more information.

• Possible make-up day on 2/20

Registration

Register by finding your school below.

Space is limited, and registration is handled first come first served. Please use the waiting list to help us accommodate as many students as possible. There is no cost to being on the waiting list, and Community Education staff will contact you if a space opens.

Scholarship Application Deadline: 11/25/2025 (More information below)

Registration Deadline: 12/12/2025. No exceptions.

• No refunds will be issued after this date. Please see the Youth Enrichment Refund Policy for more information.
• All participants must purchase a Welch Village ski pass before this date. This is the last day to purchase a discounted ski pass from Welch Village.

What if my school is not listed?

UPDATE: Byron students, use the DAKOTA Middle School. (Start and end the day at the Dakota bus stop. Students must be at Dakota by 3:40 PM.) For registration, please call 507-328-4000.  

UPDATE: Stewartville students, use the WILLOW CREEK Middle School. (Start and end the day at the Willow Creek bus stop. Students must be at Willow Creek by 3:30 PM.) For registration, 

please call 507-328-4000.

You are welcome to participate in Ski Club if you are in grades 5-12.

Any 5th grade student who attends Rochester Public Schools, use the 5600.5th Grade course section (Ride the Lincoln bus)

5th grade home school or at a school that is not listed, use the 5600.5th Grade course section (Ride the Lincoln bus)

Schaeffer students, use the 5600.CENTURY course section (Ride the Century bus)

St. Pius students, use the 5600.ST JOHN & ST PIUS course section (Ride the St. John bus)

Which Registration Tier Should I Choose?

Registration: $295 - This includes bus transportation to and from Welch Village

Registration + Rental Gear: $535 - This includes bus transportation and six nights of ski or snowboard gear rental. This rental offer is only valid during the six nights of Ski Club.

All Ski Club participants must have a ski pass purchased from Welch Village. Upon registering for Ski Club, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to a $229+tax discounted ski pass. If students already have a personal or family ski pass for Welch Village, they do not need to purchase a new one.

Scholarship Opportunity

Scholarship Application Deadline: 11/25/2025

Scholarship Recipients Notified: 12/05/2025

The Will Be Free 2 Dream non-profit organization has raised money for a scholarship fund in memory of Will Zollner. Rochester Community Education is grateful for this partnership and for this opportunity to remember a past Ski Club participant. The scholarship program is intended to promote positive mental and physical health by enabling youth to ski and snowboard who could not otherwise do so because of financial barriers.

A limited number of scholarships are available, ranging in value from $100 to $750. This can help cover the Ski Club registration fee, rental costs, and ski pass purchase. Some students may receive additional support acquiring winter clothing, meals, and other supplies.

Applying for a scholarship reserves your place in line. Please do NOT pay for Ski Club registration and then request a scholarship.

If you are applying for the scholarship, make sure you select the "$0 Scholarship Application" price. If you receive a partial scholarship or are not awarded a scholarship, you will be notified and may pay your remaining balance in December.
