    Students will work on the fundamentals of weight lifting gaining knowledge on all the basic lifting techniques and gaining strength. Excellent for all students but especially those within sports programs.
  • Middle School RYF: Rochester Youth Fencers (Gr. 6-8)

    Rochester Youth Fencers (RYF), a local volunteer-operated fencing club, invites you to join and learn a competitive sport that lasts a lifetime! We are offering this opportunity for you to master the skills and techniques at your pace. It is designed to accommodate all levels of experience and skill level. Focus will be on learning the fundamentals and rules of Fencing, teamwork, sportsmanship, and most of all, having fun! All equipment is provided. PRACTICE - Players will report to practice immediately following dismissal from school on their team’s scheduled days. All practices will take place at your home school. CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – Saturday, December 6th, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM at Willow Creek Middle School. After all classes have completed, you will represent your home school to compete in the Middle School Championship. Medals will be awarded and a trophy will be awarded to the home school that has the most wins on a point assignment basis. Roster is limited to minimum and maximum of 3 to 15 players respectively for each home schools. Registration will be taken on a first come first serve basis not ability level. All players must pre-register in order to participate and will not be allowed to participate until registration has been received. Parent is required to sign a waiver form before student starts practice. There will be a limited route late bus service available for students who need transportation home after practice. Health and Safety Fencing is an extremely safe sport. Protective gear - All equipment provided meet standards required by United States Fencing Association (USFA), which is the governing body of Fencing sport in the U.S.A. Jacket, plastic chest protector, head mask are provided. Student is responsible to bring a glove for hand protection. Students are required to have all body part covered by clothing, i.e. no skin exposure. Fencing instrument – Students learn to use the most common instrument, “foil”, for combat purpose. Foil are protected at the tip with rubber point or metal switch for electric scoring machine. Foil is made of a special type of steel, that allows flexible bending and if broken, the blade will break cleanly with no sharp edges to cause any bodily harm. Foil will only be used during sparing between two fencers in a bout when head masks are deployed. At all other time, the foil will be strictly controlled. Face mask – Due to the nature of the sport, fencers are trying to get away from the opponent to avoid hit, that makes Fencing a low to medium risk sport. RYF has been operated for over 25+ years under Rochester Community Education program and we never had a single incident that is caused by equipment failure or staff negligence. Our goal is to provide a safe and fun environment for all interested student to learn a new competitive sport.     Willow Creek Art Club (Gr. 6-8)

    The after-school Art Club invites students to explore their creativity through painting, drawing, and learning a variety of art techniques. Each week, students will build their artistic skills while working on individual and collaborative projects. The club will culminate in the creation of a vibrant mural that will be proudly displayed on the walls of Willow Creek for years to come.

  • Willow Creek Boys Basketball

    Fun for Everyone! Community Education sports are open to all students regardless of previous experience. We focus on gameplay, teamwork, understanding of rules, and knowledge of basic positions. Learn fundamental skills and apply them during games against your friends. Any student can attend on the first day of practice to learn more about this activity even if they have not registered yet. Financial Assistance Available When registering, please select the price that applies to you. $50.00 - The normal registration fee for this activity. $0 - Please select this option only if your household qualifies for Educational Benefits as described by the Minnesota Department of Education. Check the "Maximum Total Income" table on their application to see if your household income is below the threshold. If your household income is below the "Maximum Total Income", then your child qualifies for a scholarship. Proof of income may be requested.

    Willow Creek Chess Club (Gr. 6-8)

    Chess Club gives students an opportunity to play friendly games of chess against their peers in a low-stress environment, as well as learning new strategies to improve their own game. Students of all levels are welcome to come. Players will be coached by Master Thompson who has won major chess tournaments in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines, and the United States.   • Willow Creek Soccer (Gr.6-8)

    Fun for Everyone! Willow Creek Soccer is open to all students regardless of previous experience. We focus on gameplay, teamwork, understanding of rules, and knowledge of basic positions. Our season will consist of weekly practices and will conclude with a final competition. Compete on Saturday, October 25th Teams from each middle school are invited to compete in a Soccer Jamboree event at Century High School on 10/25/2025. We will give you free gaming supplies and teach you how to play!   • Willow Creek Wheels to the Waterways

    Students will bike to a water source to spend time fishing and collecting water samples. The goal of collecting the water samples is to determine why fish live here as opposed to other locations. Students will be provided a bike, tackle, water bottle, and a fishing rod to use while at the program.
