  • Cooking with the Co-op (Gr. 6-12)

    Learn to cook a fun, tasty meal with Gordy, the Rochester Deli Manager from People’s Food Co-op! This hands-on class is designed to be approachable, relaxed, and a great way to build your confidence in the kitchen — no experience needed. Come cook, hang out, and enjoy a supportive space to try something new. All supplies and ingredients are provided. Just bring yourself and your appetite! Note: Ingredient subsitutions may not be possible to accommodate dietary restrictions. All youth and adults must agree to the SLICE! Learning Kitchen safety policies before entering.   • LGBTQ+ Art Night Summer 2025 (Gr. 6-12)

    Come and get creative together in a safe and affirming space led by queer illustrator and comic book artist Micah Amundsen. You are invited to work on any art projects that you are passionate about. Bring your own art supplies or use those provided. Outdoor Location We are moving outdoors for the summer and will utilize the new outdoor classroom that lies between Goose Egg Park and the Northrop Community Education Center. Please note that the Northrop parking lot will be under construction and will not be available. This event will take place rain or shine, except in case of severe weather. The outdoor classroom is covered and offers some protection from the elements. If needed, we have the option to move indoors.   • LGBTQ+ Board Game Night Summer 2025 (Gr. 6-12)

    We’re celebrating two years of community gaming! What began as a one-time event has grown into more than 20 monthly sessions led by youth. We play all kinds of games and encourage participants to bring ones they love. Favorite games from past nights include Unstable Unicorns, Uno, Superfight, Machi Koro, and Coup. What makes this meetup special is its intentional focus on creating a welcoming space for LGBTQ+ youth and adult volunteers to connect and have fun together. Please Note: The location of this activity has changed from its usual location. Board Game Nights will be hosted at the Rochester Public Library this summer.   • Nature Walk & Mindfulness (Gr. 6-12)

    Staff from Family Service Rochester will lead this nature walk at Quarry Hill park focused on positive mental health. Relax outdoors, and ask questions to health professionals who have years of experience. Please bring a water bottle and sunscreen. Outdoor Location This event will take place at Quarry Hill park. We will meet near the main parking lot by the nature center. It's possible that this event will be cancelled because of poor weather. We encourage you to register online so that you can receive an email update in case the walk is cancelled.   • Rock Climbing at Roca (Gr. 6-12)

    Whether you are an experienced rock climber or have never climbed before, we invite you to join our LGBTQ+ group climb at Roca Climbing & Fitness. Climbing shoes and harnesses will be provided. This event requires parent/guardian permission and a $5 registration fee. Roca Rules Please register by July 20th (at least a week before the event.) All climbers, parents, and spectators must have a signed Visitor Agreement on file with Roca, even if they are not climbing.   • Tarot Reading 101 (Gr. 6-12)

    Come learn the basics of reading tarot cards. People have used tools including tea leaves, pendulums, and, yes, tarot cards to ask questions and seek answers for centuries. This workshop covers the core features of tarot decks and an introduction into how to pull and read cards in a "spread." Decks will be provided to share, but feel free to bring your own if you'd like!   • The Great Rainbow Bake Off (Gr. 6-12)

    Participate in a light-hearted baking competition inspired by popular TV shows The Great British Bake Off and Nailed It! Your team will be judged on flavor and design with the chance to win prizes. No prior baking experience is required. Note: Ingredient subsitutions may not be possible to accommodate dietary restrictions. All youth and adults must agree to the SLICE! Learning Kitchen safety policies before entering. Community Members Needed Many adult volunteers are needed to make this event possible. We welcome you to volunteer, especially if you are already a star baker. If you prefer eating baked goods to producing them, attend as a judge! No registration is required to be a judge. Please join us from 3:15 - 4:30 PM.
