Angela Smith

Angela has gardened in some form or another since she was a child playing in her parent’s small flower bed. She moved to Minnesota in 2013 and started an organic vegetable farm, growing around 90 different types of fruits, herbs, and vegetables. Along the way, she learned about the prairies, savannas, and woods that were surrounding her farm field and fell in love with all things native plants. In 2021, she decided to broaden her knowledge of native plant systems and received her Certificate in Ecological Restoration from the University of Minnesota. Two years later, she and her family built their first greenhouse, so she could begin to grow native plant seedlings for restoration efforts and for sale. She loves the beauty that native plants bring to even the smallest of landscapes and how they create habitat for a diverse array of wildlife.
