The Healing Practice of Yoga

2026 Adult Winter/Spring Catalog

The focus of this class will be on bringing the mind and body together to create a sense of peace, improve self-knowledge, and increase strength, flexibility and balance. You will learn basic yoga practices, including: 25+ poses, instruction on safety, proper alignment for your body, modifications, breath practice, and meditation. The history and philosophy of yoga will also be discussed. Students must be able to get up and down off the floor. This class is designed for anyone who wants to brush up on the basics of yoga as well as beginners. Bring: a yoga mat, a bath towel, hand towel, and wash cloth.

Jill Gruver, RYT

Jill has lived in Rochester 48 years and has practiced yoga for over 20 years. She is a certified yoga teacher with 500+ hours of training and has taught yoga through Community Education since 2014.
