  • Volunteer @ Rochester Regional STEM Fair

    68th Annual Rochester Regional STEM Fair The STEM Fair is an event where students showcase science and engineering projects. Prior to the event, students find a question or problem that interests them. They build prototypes or conduct experiments, sharing what they learned with their peers. Students can win awards based on the quality of their projects and presentations. Volunteers We need the help of more than 150 judges and other volunteers to make the STEM Fair possible. To indicate that you are interested, please click the "Enroll Now" button. If you are unsure about your availability, please complete the form and select "unsure" when asked about your availability. We will follow up with you closer to the event. Past volunteers tell us that they LOVE seeing student projects and giving meaninful encouragement. It is not necessary to hold a certain degree to become a judge. Anyone with a professional background in a field related to Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is welcome. You will be assigned to projects most closely related to your background. The volunteer deadline is at 11:59 PM on February 13th, 2026.     Volunteers Needed! Support parents and guardians who are enrolling their child in Rochester Public Schools (RPS). How to Get Started Click the "Enroll Now" button on this page or contact volunteer@rochesterschools.org. Help Parents Have a Great Day Many parents are anxious as their child's first day of school approaches. Their first school experience is often enrolling their child, a process that many find daunting. As a volunteer, you can be a welcoming ambassador to parents by guiding them through their application and giving a few moments of respite by engaging their kids in educational activities. Help Kids Have a Great Day Young children often accompany parents while enrolling. As a volunteer, you have the opportunity to help these kids become excited for their first day of school through crafts, games, and reading. Organization Rochester Public Schools Dates Ongoing Hours Flexible. Help needed weekdays 10 AM - 2 PM. Volunteers do not need to commit to multiple days a week or multiple hours per day. We will work with you to arrange a schedule matching your availability. Location Edison Building 615 7th St SW, Rochester, MN 55902 Job Description Greet parents and students when they visit the Edison building to enroll a student. Show parents where to begin the process at a computer station and answer questions. While parents work at a computer station, engage younger students through crafts, games, and reading. Prior Experience Needed None. School staff will provide training about what types of documents are required for enrollment and common questions asked by families. Knowledge of a second language is optional and appreciated. Families in Rochester Public Schools speak more than 80 languages and dialects!
