Summer Trips for Riverside, Overland, and Sunset Terrace
Are you interested in living more sustainably but don't quite know where to start? This course will provide a better understanding of the means and methods to a sustainable life starting with your home and diet and covering ideas for earth-friendly transportation, cleaning, and purchasing. Finally, this course will provide an overview of the tools that are available online and some that are specific to Rochester to help make these environmentally friendly decisions. Lauren Jensen has spent the past seven years in the field of sustainability with experience in both the nonprofit and local government sectors. Most recently she spent four years as the Sustainability Coordinator for the City of Rochester. She currently work at Destination Medical Center (DMC) as their Energy & Sustainability Manager, developing strategies and implementation tactics that connect environmental sustainability goals to equitable human health - focusing on buildings, transportation, and public realm. She works to create a culture of sustainability in Rochester, collaborating with a variety of partners to build capacity and develop communities that are truly sustainable for all.
