Connect with culture, community, and language! ISD 535 American Indian Education and the Prairie Island Indian Community Education Department invite you to an exciting 2-day Dakota language camp.

This isn't just about memorizing words—it’s an interactive experience. Led by fluent Dakota language teachers and Native elders, students will dive into Dakota values and learn the basics through fun games and activities.

Camp Highlights:

  • Cultural Roots: Learn foundational Dakota values directly from community elders.
  • Interactive Fun: Master greetings, common phrases, and everyday vocabulary through games.
  • Practical Skills: Learn how to introduce yourself and talk about the times of day.

Daily Schedule

10:00 AM – Welcome & Protocol in Room 319

10:15 AM – Morning Sessions in Classrooms 316 & 319

11:30 AM – Break

11:45 AM – Lunch at the Garden Pavillion

12:30 PM – Break

12:45 PM – Afternoon Sessions in Classrooms 316 & 319

2:00 PM – End of Day
