Leonard Loftus is trying to get his books published, but Harriet keeps sending his manuscripts back because they are the work of a man. When Leonard finally sends a manuscript based on his experience as a single parent, and uses the female pseudonym “Myrtle Banbury," Harriet is impressed. She finds the writing superb and insists on meeting Myrtle so she can hand over the prize money and get Myrtle’s signature on a contract. In order to collect the money, Leonard is forced to carry on the pretense that “Myrtle” exists, by dressing up as a woman and pretending that he is his own fictitious aunt. Leonard’s teenaged daughter, Dee Dee, and his father, Gus, play along with the deception, but expect, and receive, financial rewards from Leonard’s wallet for their trouble. The normally shy Leonard finds that as “Myrtle” he is at ease with Harriet. When Harriet meets Leonard out of his disguise, however, he behaves awkwardly. Nevertheless, Harriet becomes quite fond of Leonard and wonders why he does not ask her out.     This class builds on your skill in making bowls. We will take the bowl form and change its shape or reform the rim. Class 1- changing the shape of the bowl, Class 2- rim alterations. You will be able to keep 1 bowl made during class. Clay and tools will be provided. Your project will be glazed by the instructor and ready for pick up at a later date. Prerequisite: Participants should be able to throw a 2-3 lb bowl.

    Come to Historic Tunnel Mill in the valley and paint your own Barn Quilt Block. During the class you will work on your pattern that you have chosen from one of the offered blocks, then tape and paint your barn quilt block. Tips on taping and painting your barn quilt block will be taught. We will offer some basic patterns and sizes for you to choose from ahead of class. We are using an aluminum composite which is very light weight and durable for exterior use. Sizes to choose from: 4 x 4 ($250), 3 x 3 ($175), 2 x 2 ($125) or 12" x 12" ($75). Supplies will be furnished for the completion of the blocks. We will provide paints, rollers, and brushes as needed.
