Join us for an inspiring evening at RCTC LIFE’s annual Harvest Dinner! We’re honored to welcome Douglas Wood—renowned author, artist, musician, naturalist, wilderness guide, and visionary—as our keynote speaker. A passionate advocate for lifelong learning, Douglas will share captivating stories and insights drawn from his rich life experiences that are sure to leave you inspired. Doors will open at 5:30 PM, a plated dinner with a choice of three different entrees will be served at 6:00 PM, and Douglas will take the stage at 6:45 PM. Enjoy a delicious meal, uplifting entertainment, and the company of fellow LIFE supporters—all while helping us kick off our annual fundraising campaign, which is necessary to sustain a program that means so much to us. Come view the night as it appears from Rochester, Minnesota. We will tour the constellations of this night, as well as learn tricks, tips, and secrets for following the stars all year long. Learn to travel, tell time, and follow the seasons using the stars. The Mayo High School Planetarium can also show us how the stars of Rochester compare to the stars from different locations on Earth. Come see what you’ve been missing every night! Suggested ages 8+.

You will be provided with pre-cut "bird" or "chicken" bases on which to get creative. Using glass components of different shapes and colors, you will bring to life a bird or a chicken which can be crafted to stand independently, hang in a window, or be staked into a garden or flower pot. All supplies are included except for beads (will be discussed in class). Please bring eye protection. First fowl included in fee, second one can be made for $25 to be collected in class. Ages 16+, or 12-15 with adult supervision.
